What does it mean to feel hopeless? Well before we answer that question,
let me tell you about a time in my life I felt completely helpless in the
darkness. It was November 2008, a few days after the General Election between
John McCain and Barack Obama. I took the election results very hard which the
results were that Barack Obama had won the election. I was completely shocked
by the results. It helps to mention that I was a Political Science major at the
University of North Texas. I was in my second year there. I had completed my
basics at North Lake College in Irving, Texas. I had completed my first year at
UNT and I felt like I needed to get involved with an organization on campus. Therefore,
during the summer I saw something about Sigma Alpha, a Christian woman's
sorority at UNT. I jumped at the chance to be involved with this group of women.
